110 111 One day, god Shiva, sat on the beach of an island, was intent on teaching the practice of yoga, which had been created by himself and was exclusively reserved for gods, to his beloved wife, Parvati. However, he had not realised that there was a small fish hidden among the waves that broke on the foreshore; the fish was listening with rapt attention to all his words. When Shiva became aware of the presence of the little intruder, it was already too late: the fish had already vanished into the waves, taking with him all the secrets he had learnt. The small fish swam for kilometres and kilometres, while he was processing and incorporating within himself all the teachings he had wheedled out of Shiva. These teachings were so powerful that the small fish went through all the stages of the evolutionary path. In this way, when by the end of his journey he reached the shore in the Indian continent, he had transformed into a man and was received by the coast inhabitants, who called him Matsyendra (in Sanskrit, “fish turned into man”). Grateful for this welcoming, he taught them all the yoga postures, thus becoming the first yogin in history to transmit the secrets of this practice among human beings. yogasūtra 3.0 Un giorno il dio Shiva, seduto sulla spiaggia di un’isola, era intento nell’istruire la sua amata sposa Parvati sulla pratica dello Yoga, da lui stesso creato e riservato esclusivamente agli dei.
